Angry Crazy activation issue

Please Login to Remove!

I received my 9930 last night and was all ready to get started switching from my Thunderbolt. I just couldn't stand carrying around two batteries and still worrying that I couldn't get to a charger. Anyway, *228 was a no go. Turns out my 4G sim number is locked into my account and they can't get the Bold sim to activate.

Well....at least this is what they are telling me.

I just got off the phone again with customer service and they are hoping they can get this up and running by later today or tomorrow. Ugh. This is not good.

You don't need the SIM card in the Bold at all. If you're using the device in the U.S. it's not even necessary to have a SIM provisioned during activation.
The SIM in the Bold is only used for international roaming.

Call Verizon back and get another customer service rep that knows what they're doing.

Thanks for your response. I asked that same question and they told me that they can't get around the old Thunderbolt sim. It won't even let them delete it so every time they activate, it defaults to that sim. I'm supposed to get a call back later today and I will ask again for sure.

SIM? Aren't they CDMA? The SIM is for GSM usage outside of North America, no?

The SIM in the Thunderbolt is used for Verizon's LTE network.

The SIM in the BlackBerry is used for International roaming on GSM-based networks.
