1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

i tried to updated the new version and dont know why my phone doesnt take the updated :(

Went to BB website it only showes the 128 any one else have that problem? BB emailed me said it was up can't find it.

The online updater is still showing .128 as the latest but in the downloads you will find the latest .316 as posted above...

PS: even the sprint.com/downloads shows .128 so for now have to use the download method..

Device Echo issues have been improved.
Master Radio Reset issues have been resolved.
Push to Talk Calls will no longer play through speakerphone when device is set to Quiet Mode.
MMS messages will no longer attach the previous message and will display the cursor in the correct location when you select reply.
NOTE: You must have the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Software version 3.6 or later on your computer before installing this update.

I tried it but it was probably too early at the time.....it said no update available...Im sure it will work now...will try when another customer comes in...will post results

Do you mean run from pc as run blackberry.com/downloads? If yes then yeah that will work fine. Also you can just download the software post above for your device and install it via BB desktop manager....
At this point either will work.

What error message did you get? Also did you try the BB online updater?
It works really great, used it many times.

My wireless update was successful.

I'm having problems with my MMS messaging. Someone posted above
saying the original message wouldn't be sent in the message but it still is...any suggestions?

On the sprint site is a note that explains that the orginal message fix for mms did not make it into .204. It will however be resolved via a pushed service book sometime around april 10th.

OTA update is sheduled to become available on Monday 4.6.09

OTA is available right now in Mexico, but i couldn't update it OTA. I tried flashing it using DM and it bricked my BB, where does DM stores the backup it makes?? or i just lost all my apps and contacts???

My MMS reply messages are still showing the previous message... anyone else?

I just loaded it on my PC and the vendor.xml file is not there. I upgraded the OS back in February and remember doing that step. Has something changed? I don't want to start the process on my 8350i without doing that stem, I'm afraid it will mess it up.

OTA Worked Fine for me it took about 2 hours to do
