Default How to register devices in Blackberry Manager?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

For a while, i've tested for my company a blackberry server.
The testperiod is over and now they decided to work with blackberry's.
We want to let install the new BES on a different computer.
The company that's going to install and configure the server can do it within 2 or 3 weeks.
My boss asked me if we can use the testserver meanwhile.
I've inserted our licensekey and the cal with success so i thought we can use for a while the test-server.

I can assign devices to users with the Blackberry Manager Version 4.1.6.9 by usb-connection but the synchronisation won't work.
When i look under the 'Devices Registered' there are no devices.
How can i register those devices in our BES-Server?

Thanks

Did you make sure you have correct Exchange System Manager tools installed? That is most comman cause of synchronisation issues.

If synchronisation doesnt work over the USB by using "Assign Device" Most likely Over the air Enterprise Activation will not work.

Did you ever assign the exchange permissions as well?

Give the Blackberry support guys a ring. They are very helpful.
Unfortunately the support site can sometimes not bring up the results you want when searching.

Adding a new user to the BES.

#1 make sure the phone/account is set up for Data and BES connectivity specifically.
Once confirmed, go to step 2

#2 Add the user to the BES, if you need to know how I can do a quick write up.

#3 Make sure that your besadmin account has full access permissions over their mailbox

#4 Right Click on the user and generate a password for them and send it to their inbox

#5 have them go to Settings > Advanced Options > Enterprise Activation and have them put in their primary e-mail address and the password that the BES generated for them (or you can assign it a password manually and give it to them). Then it should start synching.

What kind of mail system is this? Exchange 2003/2007?

Have assigned the necessary permissions to besadmin?

PM me if you want, there's a few pre-req's that you want to look through.

Hello,

As i told before, this was a testserver that worked fine.
I could add users and assign devices with usb connection without any problem. The license was expired so we couldn't use it anymore.
We've bought SRP and CAL, i've inserted those on the server but it seems not working.
I also tried the enterprise activation and even that didn't work. Today i've noticed that that SRP is disconnected. Does this means that the SRP Key is wrong? I've double checked this with the key i've recieved from our reseller and it's the right one. Maybe has my problem something to do with the SRP disconnection?
