Default Exchange 2007 CDO & Calendar

Please Login to Remove!

So I've read over as much as I can and I'm still no closer to solving my little problem. First let me give you a run down of the setup I have:

Exchange 2007 SP1
BES 4.1.4

Both are brand new installs.

So far I've managed to get everything up and running with one caveat. I had to add the BESAdmin account into the "Exchange Organization Administrator" group. I've followed all other instructions and they didn't appear to give sufficient rights to the BESAdmin account.

The problem I've run into with the calendar relates to it syncing fine from Server to Device, but it won't sync from Device to Server. Here are the logs I've been diving through:

I've removed/reinstalled/re-registered/everything I can think of with the CDO and MAPI package microsoft provides. It successfully resolves the server and mailbox if I test the mapi profile in the Blackberry Server Configuration utility as well.

I'm conviced it's something with the CDO or permissions on the BESAdmin account, I just haven't been able to figure out what. If anyone has some ideas on what it might be, feel free to let me know.

Have you checked out this article, this is all you need for BESAdmin:

BlackBerry Search Results

No Administrator groups as well, it breaks the Calendar.

What are you using for MAPI/CDO?

Followed them verbatim and just double checked them. If I remove BESAdmin from Exchange Organization Administrators then all sync fails.

My ALRT log shows this upon restarting the services:

Code:
[30000] (02/04 12:48:58.204):{0x7A0} [Alarm::ActivateAlarm] Queuing alarm: <N/A> | BlackBerry Messaging Agent SEA1BES01 Agent 1 (Application Event Log on SEA1BES01) | 02/04/2008 12:48:50 (6FFFC350) -> Controller: This BES Agent is under control of BlackBerry Agent Controller
[30000] (02/04 12:48:58.204):{0x7A0} [Alarm::ActivateAlarm] Queuing alarm: <N/A> | BlackBerry Messaging Agent SEA1BES01 Agent 1 (Application Event Log on SEA1BES01) | 02/04/2008 12:48:50  (AFFF4F29) -> {KNelson@domain.com} MAPIMailbox::CreateSearchFolder - Open Entry (0x80070005) failed
[30000] (02/04 12:48:58.204):{0x7A0} [Alarm::ActivateAlarm] Queuing alarm: <N/A> | BlackBerry Messaging Agent SEA1BES01 Agent 1 (Application Event Log on SEA1BES01) | 02/04/2008 12:48:50  (AFFF4EBA) -> User Kevin Nelson not started
[30000] (02/04 12:48:58.204):{0x7A0} [Alarm::ActivateAlarm] Queuing alarm: <N/A> | BlackBerry Messaging Agent SEA1BES01 Agent 1 (Application Event Log on SEA1BES01) | 02/04/2008 12:48:51  (6FFFC39F) -> 1 user(s) failed to initialize
Any idea's on why the permissions aren't working?

Sorry forgot to post the MAPI/CDO version, 1.2.1. Downloaded from here: http://www.microsoft.com/Downloads/d...displaylang=en

K, managed to solve it myself. Not sure if this is the proper way, but if I add it to the Exchange Public Folder Administrators all functionality works properly.

Ideally I'd like to figure out why the documented permissions aren't working, but in the mean time I'm back up and working.

Question Free/Busy

I know Exchange 2007 doesn't use the Free/Busy but changing Public Folder permissions it sounds like it might be part of the issue.

80070005 is a MAPI permission error.

Do you mind posting what all the permissions the BESadmin has? Specifically on the Exchange Mailbox store and in AD to see what groups it is part of.

Red face Ever figure out how to properly solve this?

CaptnIgnit -

We are having the same problem you describe. Did you ever figure out the "real" solution to this problem?
