HELP! 505 error, dead BB 7290, and I'm a APPLE /MAC user...stuck

Hey all, I'm in a spot here... My BB just froze up mid conversation---
I rebooted by pulling the battery, but then I got a dwindling lcd display with an hour glass that would NOT spin-
Then, a little square, with a circle,triangle, and square and an error code of "505"
I've got access to the wifes comp ( i'm an apple guy, and use a third party software- Pocket mac, to sync )
do i need to reinstall the OS, and if so, is it available for download? I'm not sure I have the BB desktop cd that came with the phone.
HELP!
