Really? That is good to know. The only thing that is keeping me from going the Vista route is the lack of compatibility between all my other games/programs with it.

Yes, it has a lot of backwards compatible problems -- I can't go into details, but we worked with MS through the rc stages of Vista to deploy "a thing" (*), and had numerous problems with existing (modern, new) hardware not quite working right. The driver situation needs to mature first -- give it time, it just came out in final release. Let ATI, Nvidia, etc. all get their issues solved before diving in hardcore would be my advice.

(*) being deliberately obtuse, it's a NDA thing

Could this be the reason why DM wants to remove the DST patch when using the application loader? DM sees it as an unrecognized module that will be removed: net_rim_bb_timezoneupdater?

I installed this on a freshly built Vista 32 bit (Enterprise) machine friday night - did not go well. It was incredibly slow to install and would not run after installation. Pulled it back off (incredibly slow again). The non-SP1 4.2 version works fine though.

It is true. Except that 4.2 is out released yet for the 8700/8703 series.
And don't forget that without a microSD card (only on the 8100/8800 series now) you can't transfer much music..

They are TAlking about Desk Top Manager 4.2. I believe you are asking about OS 4.2? If so 4.2 hasn't been released for 8700 series it is still in Beta, Not sure if you would be able to transfer files with BT with 4.2 perhaps someone running it in Beta can answer that

Installed. I see it is listed as 4.2.1 when installed. It also crashes a lot when I connect my 8100 to my PC.
