Default Verizon Family add on

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, I am going to switching over to verizon and i'm going to be getting the basic 39.99 plan with the 29.99 web and e-mail for the Storm. I'm going to be adding my GF to my plan using the 9.99 line add. She wants to get a blackberry pearl but doesn't want e-mail or web. I know you need this for verizon if you want to use a blackberry product. Well sinse I have it on my plan and she will be added on to my plan will I need to get web and e-mail for her as-well. Basically paying 29.99 for me and 29.99 for her as-well? If you are wondering why she wants a BB phone it's becuase it the only phone the verizon offers that isn't a flip/slide phone. She just uses a cell to make calls...she doesn't even text.

You will have to add it for each line. There's no getting around it.

Yes, both lines require the Email and Web feature on the account, so 2x $29.99. Also the $39.99 voice plan you plan on getting is not a family share plan, that is a single line and cannot have a $9.99 line added to it. The lowest family plan is $69.99 for 700 minutes.

It should not be a problem to have the line switched over. It is your right to keep your phone number. There will most likely be an early termination fee on your TMO account if you are still under contract.

If you have your account number it will be active before you leave the store. If you don't have the account number it can take a little longer.

You need to have a family plan in order to take advantage of the "add a line for 9.99" service. A Family Plan shares your minutes among the phones that are part of it. You cannot just add a new phone line to your account for 9.99 / month without a Family Plan. Plain and simple. You can have up to 5 phones in a family plan.

It's because Vzn wants more money. To have 2 phones out there for $50/month total isn't good. 2 phones for $80/mo is good for them. The $9.99/month for another line is kind of a teaser deal for parents to add kids. Then they find out (the hard way) that kids use lots of txt, so they add another $10-15/month to the kids line. Then the kid uses up all the minutes so they increase that, and so on. They have this all figured out. The first time they get a bill for $200 because of the txt and overuse of minutes is when they figure the deal out. Been there/done that!
