Enter the correct password instead of the wrong one.

When you hit the 10th wrong password the device will prompt you to type "blackberry" and then it will erase itself... be carefull if you dont have it backed up...

You can't, without entering the correct password or, if you are on a BES, having the Admin send a new password to the device wirelessly.
The "incorrect password" count will remain whether you pull the battery or restart device. It is a security feature, else people could use up 9/10 attempts (or however many attempts the BB is set to allow -1) then restart the phone and have another 9 attempts, then restart the phone... etc...

Then you don't know the password. If you did, you wouldn't keep getting that prompt.
It's as simple as that.
This thread is going nowhere.

Then enter it correctly. This is not difficult.

neanea, is this the BB we have discussed before, which is on a BES system?
If so, I would advise you to call your Admin and have them reset your device password.

neanea, I am slightly confused. The number of attempts remaining will not change unless your handheld is on a BES and the Admin has changed the policy, or you have changed the setting. - What happens when you put the "correct" password in?
Does the device unlock? Or does the attempt count increment i.e. 3/6 changes to 4/6 (or 3/10 changes to 4/10, depending which post is accurate)?

So what you are saying is:
You are using your BB no problem. You lock it. The first time that you try to unlock it, the device is already showing you 3/6 password attempts. You get the password right first try, and are able to use the BB no problem.
Yes?

I'm confused but curious. If I understand what I'm reading here correctly, he enters a valid password (thus authenticating himself to the BB/BES system and successfully unlocking his BB), but the BB/BES system is not resetting the invalid password counter back to zero. So, inevitably, if he fat-fingers his password once or twice a month - and who doesn't - he will eventually wipe his BB.
I've never seen an invalid password counter work this way in any of the systems I've managed (though I readily admit I've never managed a BES). Is this a usual way to set BES up? And wouldn't this drive IT staffers freakin' bonkers? Or am I just missing something?
