I've solved the problem. Had to change option>sms>data coding to 7-bit. Default was UCS2.
And had to change options>language>input language>english. When changed to polish there is only 70 chars.
Why is it like that?

I followed your instructions to the letter and the upgrade was completed without any problems at all. Many thanks!

I'm new to Blackberry so everything is new (and often scary!) to me.
Thanks to you all, but especially the Moderator, for letting me in in this brand new area, probably helping me a lot not to get hurt!...

My 8700c external speaker turns on and off which sounds like a faint clicking sound. It also reboots when I tried playing some of the ringtones that came with it. I called AT&T and they had me reload the OS, wipe the handheld, don't restore, etc and it still have the problems. AT&T connected me to RIM and they made me do the same thing and even had me download the javaloader program to wipe the handheld clean but it is still having issues. Phone does not exhibit those problems with 4.1. RIM wants me to RMA or exhange my handheld to the tune of $190-$230 respectively since I bought my handheld May of last year. I believe it is not a hardware issue since the problem go away if I downgrade it to 4.1

Question Blackberry server jammed my pop3 connection with host server

I am a novice in these forums, but I encountered a problem that I need help with. My host server, run by Cybershore is trying to resolve this with RIM.

RIM upgraded the blackberry software on their servers last week. The software has created the following problem: The software jammed the pop3 session and it cannot close on the host server.

My Blackberry is receiving emails from the host server, but I cannot download them to my Outlook. This is day 3.

What can I do to close this pop3 session that RIM server has caused so Outlook can access my emails?

Also, the unlock feature seems to have been tweaked and is now kind of annoying. I also like the 4.1 Zen much better than the 4.2 Zen.
yeah i agree with you the unlock feature is annoying i can not unlock the blackberry with the scroll wheel anymore i need to press * and answer button to unlock it and i hate this thing

Default Problems with Internet Email after upgrades

Question for this distinguished community:

I upgraded my T-Mobile 8700G to version 4.2.1.96 using the instructions that John had posted up earlier and everything worked beautifully (there were some minor installation challenges but the responses to questions from you helped)

Background of the problem:
I set up my work email using BES (Enterrpise activation done using Desktop Messenger) and an Internet Email (gmail). Everything worked well for a few hours.

Problem:
I continue to receive my gmail emails but when I send them they do not go out from my gmail account but my work account. Also the icon for 'Internet Email Setup has disappeared. It doesnt show up as a hidden icon

Question to this community:
How do I fix this?
Could it be that my company has disabled internet email - but if that is the case how can I continue to receive email?
Could I use JL_Commander to modify the security profile so that I continue to function as before.

The two or three hours after upgrading were heavenly and I long to have that feeling again

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Options >Advanced Options >Host routing table >click the wheel and select "Register Now."

Also, when you send mail are you changing the "send using" option at the top of the email? You should be able to change which account you are sending from.

However, if that doesn't work it is very possible that your IT department has restricted mail from BIS. I don't think it's possible for them to restrict receiving it but they can restrict you from sending it. It sounds like that may be the case. Contact them to find out for sure.

I have tried all the 4.2 versions and i keep getting the same problem. The audio goes out when i am on a call. The call does not drop the audio just goes out. I even exchanged my 8700g for another one and still the same problem. The 4.2 sounds clearer and the feature are 10 times better than 4.1 but what good is it if the audio keeps going out and i can not complete a conversation on a call. I am going back to 4.1 again. Tmobile needs to put out its 4.2

Simply remove the 4.2 OS from the computer using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

Then (if it's not installed already) download and install the desired OS you'd like to downgrade too. Then simply plug in the BB and run Desktop Managar/Application Loader. It will show that a "downgrade" is available.

The original post says "software For BlackBerry 8700c(AT&T)"
I see a lot of people replying to this thread from different providers and models. Would this work on my Alltel 8703e? Alltel's site doesn't list 4.2 OS.

The original post says 8700g/c (it will also work on an 8700r). This will not work on an 8703e.
