Default 7250 - Switch from Nextel to Verizon??

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I'm new at this stuff so go easy on me. A friend gave me a 7250 that was on a Nextel service. I have a Verizon contract and I was wondering if there was a way to switch it over. Customer service says no, but I don't trust them. Is there a hack that could take care of this? Thanks for everyone's help!

I think you have your model numbers confused.
There is no such thing as a 7250 on Nextel.
Nextel has a 7520.
Verizon has a 7250.

You can't put a Nextel 7520 (or any other Nextel phone) on Verizon's network. Impossible.
Customer service is telling you the truth.

Nextel uses iDen wireless technology, and Verizon uses CDMA. The two technologies aren't compatible with eachother.

I concur with Penguin. I did indeed terminate my contract with a Nextel 7520 and move to the Verizon 7250. The phone run on diferent systems.

Having said that, I believe Nextel discontinued their 7520.

If you do decide to leave, look at the 8300 or 8800 devices that exist from the differrent carriers.
