Default Flashing spinning hourglass

Please Login to Remove!

I tried going to the blackberry calendar update patch site on my 8830 (verizon). My device stops half way through the "running script" portion while tring to find the site....then it just stops with a hourglass flashing on and off. This continues even after I exit the browser.

I pulled the battery and went back into the browser, after a minute or two the flashing hourglass returns. Nothing has change on my device that would cause this.

My device needs the OS update. Should I update the devices' OS and hope for the best?

Any suggestions?

An OS update would not hurt anything, see the Sticky Note at the top of the 8800 section for your model's latest OS.

Just read through the pages. One question was not answered that I think I need clarification on. Do I have to apply the calendar patch prior to the OS upgrade?

No, you don't. The OS upgrade already includes this "fix" without indication of an installed patch, so don't expect to see the patch listed in Applications after you update the OS version.
