I have read some comments that folks prefer 4.2

Why is this? I am thinking of upgrading to 4.3 b/c it came with my 8130 from Verizon

Also, any tricks to the upgrade? Remove old version first? Thanks!

I think 4.3 works great. I just installed it over 4.2 without uninstalling it.

Media manager has issues if you fresh install it. 4.3 does not support Outlook 2000.

that would explain why none of my users have complained about 4.3. We don't use media manager and we don't have any computers running outlook 2000. It works great for my 25 people with 8700's and 8800's.

I currently recommend DM 4.2 SP2 as I know that works.

i know 4.3 with media manager works for me

Installing it with out any other copy of DM on your computer.

I had way too many issues with desktop manager 4.3 so downgraded back to 4.2 SP2.

I installed it fresh from RIMs sight fresh and its been working fine ever since. I run xp home with office 2007

Desktop Manager v4.3 does not have the "Hide When Minimized" feature.

They did away with it for some bizzare unfathomable reason in v4.3. So if you like the DM sitting on your task bar rather than hiding in your sys tray...go for it.

I did, on my personal laptop which had never had DM on it. For some reason, when I did so, it did NOT install Media Manager.

I don't need Media Manager, because I use Mass Storage Mode on my media card, but I'm curious how IT knew so...?
