Default Overwrite Users Personal Blackberry...

Please Login to Remove!

I am working with a client who is running BES on a SBS (with Exchange). It is a small 10 user location with 1 current Blackberry user.

I have a user that has a BB 8900 that is currently setup for personal use, (calendar, addresses, gmail).

The question is: If I add her to our BES server, does the Exchange Addressbook, Calendar, Email overwrite her existing data, or can it coexist?

I've had different experiences with this, but the most recent was a merging of the two data sources (device data merges into Exchange, Exchange data merges onto the device). So, in theory, it would co-exist (just not perhaps in the way you may want it).

it might get messy, given that the data will replicate to their exchange mailbox/client, so their calendar & address book/contacts will have personal and work related entries. I wasn't sure if personal blackberries would connect to a BES server, was always under the impression you had to have enterprise handsets to connect to BES.

All you need is a proper data plan. There is no physical difference between a personal and enterprise BlackBerry
