507 Error.. ran through everything!
Please Login to Remove!
Ok. I have run through just about every post, from using jl_cmdr, to adjusting the cod's in the alx file, I have uninstalled everything, reinstalled it, ran loader /nojvm, I could go on.... Nothing is working.
I needed to install maps to get my gps working, did it, and it wiped my system, and came up with a 507 error. That was at about 630 this afternoon. I have been trouble shooting it ever since.
Nothing is working. I dont care what I need to do, I just need to do it. Any help is appreciated.
Error in loader is:
A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again.
Unspecified error encountered (j:0x00000005)

What device are you using? What operating system are you using? What version of Desktop Manager are you using? What version of the handheld OS are you trying to install?

You may try the latest 8820 OS, which is 4.5.0.124. It is available in the 8800 subforum. Also, try an older version of Desktop Manager, if available, just to see if you have any better luck. Also, just try to at least get the OS on the device without modifying any .cod files, just to see if it at least gets on there.

Also, you don't need to use DM to upgrade your OS. You can use Loader.exe to do so.
Furthermore, make sure you're not connecting your device to a USB hub, connect it directly to a port on your PC. I've seen where users have had issues trying to upgrade their device using USB hubs, it doesn't reconnect after the multi-stage loading operation.
Lastly, welcome to the forums and good luck.

guys those are great ideas.. however I have already done all of those things. I am connecting directly to a USB 2.0 hub, I have tried getting older version of both the DM and OS, also I have ran the loader /nojvm command about 100 times and no luck. I cannot even use JL_Cmdr to wipe the thing!
This is annoying! I jsut want the phone to work.
Thanks for the help.

You don't need to wipe it. You're getting a 507 error. That indicates there's no OS on the device.
You need to load the OS onto the device. Have you tried different USB ports? Did you reboot your PC? Try another PC if at all possible. Is the device detected when you connect it?
What happened that got you into this predicament to begin with? Did you install an app or theme, try upgrading your OS??

Something I just noticed, AT&T's site only has version 110 not 124 out there. I am downloading the 124 version and will try that in a few minutes. I also moved to my last usb port that I have not tried anything on. I will cross my fingers, stand on one leg and touch my nose and see what happens.

I needed to load Maps, tried to via AppLoader, and I got the 507 error. I am just trying anything and everything to fix this.
I started on my laptop, and now I am on my desktop, so multiple computers have been violated trying to fix this .
Yes it is detected... but only if I go into DM and force it, it does not see it on its own.

Make sure to remove the vendor.xml file, and follow the steps in the sticky. That should work for you.

Did everything I could... It errors out faster than before now. I am starting to think that it might be my data cable. I am going to get a new one later today, and will try again this afternoon.
If that does not work, what is the ultimate last result way to get this thing re-built? Can I send it back to BB? It has no warrenty, so I will be paying out of pocket, but no big deal. I just want it to work.
Thanks,
CKBP

got new cable, unistalled DM and OS, rebooted, installed latest DM (4.7) and OS (4.5.0.124), connected and she loaded.
Only issue now is that I am getting a No Vaild Sim Card, when I put in my sim and try to connect to the network.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks for all the help,

Glad you got it working.
I am not sure about the SIM as I am on CDMA and don't use a SIM. Have you tried reseating it?

System is unlocked, called provider, they said to download version 4.2 from the ATT site, did so, installed it, but I think it might still have the old version, so I am going to do a wipe and try again with the right software to start.
Will let you all know what happens.

Tmobile was unable to help after about an hour of trying. They called BB, thanks for saving me the $50! Was on the phone with BB for about 3 hours, still no resolution. I am wiping the thing again using JL_CMDR and reinstalling with the original software version that the phone shipped with. Maybe that will help!
Does anyone know of a resolution for the "Invaild Sim Card" error? The phone is unlocked, it was working with this sim on the Tmob network for about 3 weeks.
thanks

It's either a faulty SIM or a hardware issue with the BB. You can try cleaning the contacts with an eraser and swapping SIM's. Short of that, it's replace the BB.
