Default Need help with reinstalling the OS on my 522 Tour

Please Login to Remove!

Let me preface this by saying that I've done probably 6 OS upgrades, all with DM, and have never had a problem. I'd consider myself average when dealing with these issues. I've done a fairly decent job of researching, but something isn't right...maybe me.

Today I switched out a fresh charged battery for a dead battery and got the Reload Software: 522(IIRC) message. Although I had issues with JL comm, I'll assume that a wipe is a wipe and that's what I got since Reload Software: 507 showed up.

Assuming that I did wipe the Tour, I'll move on to my next efforts. I've tried DM and app loader as far as reinstalling an OS. In both cases, I've tried hooking up the USB cable, first, then putting the battery in and I've tried battery first, then cable. If it matters, I have to enter a password since I have that setup.

When attempting to use app loader, I enter my password and get this and that's as far as I get:

With DM, I enter my password and the process starts.....

......until it gets to this(Notice stage 2 of 6):

I hit retry and it says stage 2 is completed, but then gets to point in stage 3 where it does the same. I hit retry again, but it never progresses any further. When I hit cancel, I get some message about a reboot, though I know a reboot won't happen with the 522 or 507.

If I can't figure this out, I'll just take it to Verizon, though I don't know if they'll replace it since I wiped it. I know they would had I taken it when it first bricked, but I though I could figure this out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This pic belongs after the second pic. Notice the actions for the top 2.

I just tried again with DM and after putting the battery in a little later, we're up to Stage 3. Later....as in waiting until the OS install started. Also....the screen actually lit up and the spinning clock showed up, BUT, the Reload Software 507 showed back up. Stage 3 IS still progressing.

Scratch that. I get this.....

Instead of using Desktop Manager, try doing it by use running loader.exe in this location:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader (AppLoader is the folder)

Go to that folder and double click the loader.exe file.

Don't open Desktop Manager at all.

I did and mentioned it at the beginning of the post.

I would back it up, wipe it, either uninstall all OS from your computer or move it elsewhere, reload the new one and try again maybe using BBask.

It's been backed up in the last month or so, but I can't back up a bricked BB. I stated that I've wiped the BB. I have removed the OS from my laptop and downloaded another. No clue what BBask is or where to find it.
