When I had the previous version of the BlackBerry FB app, alerts would go to both the BlackBerry and my computer's email.

I was prompted two days ago to upgrade the app to the latest version. Ever since then, all my Facebook alerts go straight to the Berry and no longer to email on my computer.

Is this normal?

in the fb settings there is an option to leave the notification on email and not delete it

I checked in the FB app options and found a link to disable all email notifications on the website.

On the FB site itself, I have re-enabled email notification and will wait and see if I actually start getting emails again.

edit: Just received another FB alert to my BlackBerry, but nothing to my email, despite email being enabled in my settings. Weird.

I've found that if you have the emails enabled the Facebook Notifications will be flaky if they work at all. However, even with the emails disabled the Facebook Notifications are still unreliable.

I've never had a problem with the BB FB alerts. Now the MySpace alerts, on the other hand...

Neither did anyone else until FB 1.8. With the latest update the entire notification system has been changed. The notifications are "push" notifications and are not part of the emails sent from Facebook.

I wish they would beta test these things before foisting them on users.
