Very good - thanks UDKJ!

For some reason when we are creating users from this site, no Activation password gets set. I am unable to check the box to use a random activation password, and therefore no password gets set. I can go in after i have added someone and assign them a password, but i would love to be able to do it in one step.

Thanks for the great program

What kind of troubles are you having with self-service? Anything I can help you with?

Also, everyone, please test out the activation password reset on the device details page. I modified this so that:

If a role has permission to reset a password, but not "manually reset" a password, the activation will only allow a random password generation (and thus, the random password field will be checked, but also is disabled).

If a role has permission to reset a password, AND "manually reset" a password, the user will have the ability to UNCHECK the random password checkbox and type in a specific password.

In both cases, a new activation email will be sent to the user.

Also - please test the adduser page - lots of minor fixes were applied.

Default EA on device details page...

QC I just tried the EA and the password was not generated. The email was sent, but with a blank where the password should be.

Got it - line 91 (roughly) in besuseradminclient.asp:

Where it says:

Code:
  If request.form("cbxRandomPassword") = "on" then
Change this to:

Code:
  If request.form("cbxRandomPassword") = "on" or request.form("password") = "" then
That should do it.

Man, I'm sorry about all the troubles, guys...

In lite.asp:

Replace the current 'if' code (around line 262) with this:

Code:
If instr(rHideActivationPassword,Session("Role")) and (Request.QueryString("SMTP") <> Session("LoggedOnSMTP") or (instr(rHideActivationPassword,Session("Role")) and lcase(Request.QueryString("DisplayName")) <> strOperator)) then

QC, it was my bad. apparently the Self-Service Portal is working just fine.

Thanks for the great application. I was wondering if there was any way to build in new functionality for the end users. I constantly get requests to assist users in managing the synchronized folders that go to the Blackberry. I try and walk them through it on their phones for them (most of our users do not have the desktop software on their desk) but i get frustrated, because they dont know how to use their phones, so i do it for them on the BES. Is this functionality that you could build into the system. From the My Blackberry page, have a drop-down that says Manage my Sync folders or something like that.

Just a thought.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

EDIT: Also, would it be possible on the main landing page, where you have the total number of users, to also put a total number of licenses, so we can tell at a glance where we stand license wise.

thanks

Oh boy - that may be a little difficult. The first one would require some interaction with the mail server, which adds a whole level of complexity. I'd have to take a look at the resource kit tool to be sure, but testing would be near impossible for anything other than Exchange for me. This one would be a low-possibility of getting done.

However, RIM's web desktop might allow this - can anyone verify? This is kind of like a Desktop Manager, but with a web interface.

The license thing, yeah, that would be very nice to do - Currently, all the values that Berrystats is pulling now are coming from the database, so that is pretty easy to do, so to speak. This one is a value that is typically (when it works right) found via SNMP, which currently I do not have any way of accessing without purchasing some third-party SNMP components (which then would force me to start charging for BerryStats). Also, the SNMP values for license count barely work right as it is.

I don't know why they don't put this value into the database, or through a normal Windows perfcounter...
