I can't seem to keep my time zone right. I will set it on network time and in a couple of days it will change back to -12 timezone and when I change it back, I still have to set it forward an hour. Any ideas?

In options, are you saying the time zone setting is actually changing, or just the time?

If zone setting, beats me.

If time, is it being changed when you sync to desktop computer?

Maybe someone knows different, but I don't know what would change the time zone unless someone does it.

Otherwise, check to seem if desktop manager sync is set to adjust BB clock upon sync connection.

Good luck.

Default I had a similar issue, although not exactly the same. Try this.....

I'm sure somebody who knows more than me will corrct me if I'm wrong, but since only aiharkness has tried to help......

Not sure about the 8100, but if you haven't tried it maybe try OPTIONS, DATE/TIME. This is the same screen where you set your time zones.

From there you should be able to choose DATE/TIME SOURCE and set it to BLACKBERRY instead of NETWORK. We had a similar issue where the Network was overriding the blackberry, and the time zones were differrent. OT would sit for a day or two then magically go back to the old time zone until I set the source as BB.

Hope you get it figured out, I know first hand that it's frustrating.

That's interesting. This time changing question comes up occaisionally, and I believe there have been cases where it had nothing to with sync, but I never saw it resolved in those instances. If this is solution, I'm curious to know more. I thought network and blackberry were just different sources and nothing more than that.

Edit: I've always had mine set to network. Not because I know any better. Just what I've always done.

I'm having the same problem. It's happened while the source is set to both the blackberry and the network.

I've tried unchecking the 'update date and time' option from the sync config. Hopefully that will help, but if anyone else has any tips, I would appreciate them as well.

Default Same Issue...

For the love of Dog, I'm having the same issue. 8100, Time Zone mysteriously changes on it's own about twice a day...in fact it just changed about 5 minutes ago...i haven't sync'd recently...my difference is that my Network is set to Blackberry.

Help Help!!

Thanks.

Default Just tried...

...some more options. I tried the Date/Time Source as Network, Blackberry, and off with the same results. And I've found that it happens every time I synchronize using the desktop manager, regardless of what option I choose after that.

Is DM set to sync the clock on the handheld with the PC when you sync?

It's official, I'm a moron. I guess I didn't see that option before. **bleep**

I just sync'd again and it didn't change. I'll see if it happens again.

Thanks.

My 8100 is doing the same thing: it changes the time zone from Pacific Time to Eniwitok, every time I sync.
In the synchronize config screen, I tried this with "Update device's date and time" both CHECKED and UNCHECKED... it doesnt matter wht I try, each time I sync, it changes the devie's time zone.
I have also tried this with the 8100's network time set to "Network", "Blackberry", and "Off".
The only way I can keep the time zone to stay is if I set it to "Off". Any other setting and the time zone changes.

Any ideas?
I'd like to be able to update the time with Network time, I don't feel too good about leaving it set to "Off" all the time.
