Default Move user from redirector

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
I want to move one user from BB Redirector to BES. Right now the redirector is installed on his PC. I read BES manual, what we need to do just activate the unit.
My question is:
1. Do I need to remove Desktop Manager on his PC or I have to modify from redirector to connect to BES?
2. If I don't change it his desktop manager, what will happened if he connect his 7290 to his PC?
3. What is the best practice to activate unit? last time I did to one of my users and I have to wait few hours because it had around 300 pending items (i guess it's the old email) Do I need to clean up the Inbox first?

Thanks,
minx

Though I've never done this before... given the situation I would probably:

Remove redirector from the PC. (uninstall/reinstall without redirector or leave it off completely)

Upgrade the handheld if needed.

Activate on BES.

I'm assuming BES 4.0 right? So address book, appts, and a backlog of emails should appear on the device shortly after activating, so the user won't see too many changes.

When you say "activate on BES," do you mean to say plug the device in? I find that syncing the device to the BES server is the easiest way to get the PIN to account mapping to work...
I'm dreading adding three remote users, because I can't manually sync them up to the BES. How does this work? I assume some black magic happens via MAPI/Exchange and Outlook/Desktop Manager...
