Cool 3-way calling with our BB

Please Login to Remove!

I realize there are a few postings on conference calls using BBs, however, I would like to add this step by step how to make a three way call as prescibed by my carrier Verizon. I have copied below and hope it helps everyone.

Your comments please and thank you.

Happy New Year to all!!!

3-Way Calling
Description
You can talk with two people at the same time with a three-way conversation on your wireless phone. Airtime and other charges, which may include toll or long distance charges, will apply for all simultaneous calls until you end one call.

Not Available in some areas. Airtime applies to all simultaneous calls and to forwarded/transferred calls even if you send the call to wireline telephones.
How to Get It
3-Way Calling is an included feature that is typically added to your account when you first activate service. If you wish to confirm you have this feature, sign in to My Verizon and select "My Plan" and then select "Add/change features".
How to Use It
1. While on the first call, dial the 10-digit number of the second person.
2. Press SEND; the first person is automatically put on hold while the call is made.
3. When the 2nd person answers, press SEND to create a conference call.
4. If the second person does not answer, press the SEND key twice to end the connection and go back to the first person.
5. To end both conversations completely, press the END key.
Important Note: If you are traveling and the instructions don't work, or if you are in OH, MI, MN, SD or Southern IL, you will need to press SEND before dialing the number of the second person.

COMING SOON - Instructions listed under "How to Use It" section can be used and it will no longer be necessary to press SEND before dialing the number of the second person (11/4/08 for SD, 11/11/08 for Southern IL, 11/18/08 for MN, 12/2/08 for OH, and 12/9/08 for MI).
Top Questions
How do I set up 3-Way Calling?
To Initiate 3-Way Calling:
1. While on the first call, dial the 10-digit number of the second person.
2. Press SEND; the first person is automatically put on hold while the call is made.
3. When the second person answers, press SEND to create a conference call.
4. If the second person does not answer, press the SEND key twice to end the connection and go back to the first person.
5. To end both conversations completely, press the END key.
Can I turn a call waiting call into a 3-Way call?
No, but you do have the option to speak to the second caller by pressing SEND. To return to the first call, press SEND again. To switch between the two calls, press SEND.

What are the airtime charges for 3-Way Calling?
Airtime charges apply for all three calls while all parties remain on the line in accordance with your Calling Plan.
What happens if someone calls while I am using 3-Way Calling?
If someone tries to call you while a 3-Way call is in progress, they will either hear a busy signal or will be forwarded to your voice mail. If you have activated call forwarding, the call will be forwarded immediately.
How do you release one call and continue with the other?
To disconnect one or both parties, ask them to hang up.

I concur that it is not rocket science, however, some may not know that you must know what your plan is with your provider before making a conference call. The steps were not posted anywhere on our discussion boards.

Thanks for the comments.

Default BB and MS's new Communicator

Has anyone ever thought of using their BB with Microsoft's Communicator as an extension for a conference call?
