in media player there is an option to enable audio boost. I'm pretty sure that will fix it.

I have a different model and I actually found 4.5 to be louder, so as alluded to above, please double check your settings again.

I might add with the 4.5 build automatic volume limiter must have been introduced to reduce output gain through poor quality speakers that may have a distorted output at times with harsh sounds, some would complain the speaker sounded as if it was crackling at times.

My volume hasn't suffered any since going onto the 4.5 highway, but I'm intrigued about the boost enable. I looked in the media section, but I can't find it anyplace.

when I speak of low volume issues I am talking about the 8310.

as for the audio boost it does nothing far as I can tell...I guess if you hook it up to an audio pod docking station or into your car stereo it might,I don't know? The audio coming out of the BB speaker or headset it does nothing.

While anywhere in the Media section, press your menu key, then select "Options" from the sub-menu. It should be near the bottom.

That's probably just a 83xx option, as I don't have it in mine. The last item in it is "Turn off auto backlighting".
I was just curious anyway. Like I said, I have not lost any sound with the upgrade.

Thanks Anywho!
