Default How well does Bluetooth Sync Work?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm thinking about ordering a bluetooth adapter for my computer so I can sync my 7130e but was wondering if it is really an added benefit or if it's more of a novelty.

I'm aware of the requirement for a "Microsoft Approved" BT radio.

Will it automatically initiate a sync if you have the Auto Start options checked in Desktop Manager whenever you come into range with the computer or do you have to manually initiate a sync?

We have the crappy Domino version of BES and cannot do OTA sync of anything accept calendar so if my bb would automatically sync whenever I go near my computer that would be pretty handy but I don't want to fool with it if it's no easier than hooking up the USB cable.

Thanks,
Jeff

Mine begins to sync as soon as the phone is in range of the PC. It does not try and sync again until you force it from the PC or you go out of range and return.

I wish it could be configured to periodically sync.

Also, when I am at the edge of Bluetooth coverage, the phone crashes almost everytime. I now pull the BTooth adapter out of the PC whenever I am leaving my office but staying nearby.

The Bluetooth on this phone seems to be very unstable. I am hoping an update is coming soon to address this.

Sounds like you have the 7130e also. My BT earpiece crashes and reboots my 7130e pretty regularly. Maybe I should wait until RIM addresses these issues.
