Question Call Log problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
I have the blackberry pearl, and I have a problem with my call log. I seem to have got -3 missed calls. Could someone tell me how to reset this counter since its annoying having it display a negative number of missed calls

Thanks
Ashley

Welcome to the forums Ashley! You will need to do a battery pull while the phone is on. It should clear it. Future calls should be cleared by simply viewing them in the log.

Sorry to sound stupid, but what is a battery pull?

With the BB powered on, remove the rear door on your 8100, remove the battery, hold it for 30 seconds. Replace the battery exactly as it was. Replace the door. Allow the BB to reboot.

You could try clearing the whole Phone Call Log?

Go to Messages, click the Menu button (to the left of the trackball). Select 'View Folder'.
Click on the 'Phone Call Logs' folder.
Highlight the top-most Date, press the Menu button and choose Delete Prior.

Note: this will clear you entire call history on the device. Some people don't care, some people live by it :P

Dave
is there a way of doing that without losing things like my contacts and my sms messages?

Yep, a good backup always helps.

Honestly, reloading the OS does not wipe your contacts, etc., and if it did, you will can restore only those databases from the backup you made beforehand.

Reloading the OS does wipe all user data, however, the default option when reloading the OS is for it to automatically backup and resore the user data.

If the backup fails for some reason, it will not continue the upgrade, it will stop before doing anything else.

If the restore of the data after the OS update fails, you can manually restore. You can even manually restore one database at a time if needed.

And if all else fails, you data will still be on your mailbox or mail client if you synchronize wired or wireless with one or the other.

Default Missed Call indicator

Ok, not sure if this is the right place, but I NEED help please.

I've had my Pearl a few months and love it. A couple days ago I opened BB Messenger for the first time. I also registered my Pearl Alerts. Otherwise, nothing new.

I missed a call and since then the Missed Call Inidcator on my home screen will not go away! I have searched threads and tried about everything, to no avail.

I have cleared all logs. Done numerous battery pulls. Short of reloading OS (which I did a few months ago to update my Pearl out of the box), I think I've tried everything!

I'm getting very frustrated because I actually USE my missed call indicator (as I couldn't possibly answer all work calls).

Any suggestions? Is my thread in the right place?

The only thing that worked for me was reloading the OS, so I'd say do that

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8130/4.3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

May sound dumb, but try missing another call and then deleting that one. Maybe the counter will fix itself.

Default Newest OS

Thanks, but missing another call hasn't worked. It seems as if I've read that there's a new OS release, but I can't find it easily. Does anyone have a link to the MOST RECENT OS for the Blackberry Pearl? Hopefully, going through reload will fix this problem.
