Yes. I can confirm...
I just downloaded it to my pearl..
Use the link on the default home page of the Pearl's BB Browser... if it still says "Coming soon" just hit the menu button and select Refresh...

That worked for me.

At my local Verizon store, the rep told me that VZ Navigator will work immediately on the Pearl, but not on any of their other smart phones until January.

Has anyone activated and installed VZ Nav on the 8130. I've done it - it seemed to install fine, but when I run it, it starts with a screen that says "Please Wait...Checking for new messages...." there's a white status box below that says "Request....." Then I get the message "Connection not available. Please try again later. [2004].
Has anyone seen this? Has anyone successfully used VZ Nav on the 8130 yet? Thanks!

I called Verizon Wireless data support. They had me remove the battery to reset the device. After that, VZ Nav works perfectly!

I assume you bought the service ... does this process by any chance unlock the internal GPS for other applications e.g. BB Maps?

Got the same thing until I called CS and had them activate it on my account (as opposed to the normal BREW handsets that activate the feature upon download).
Also, after that, a battery pull was required for it to take effect. Seems to work just as good as on regular VZ phones.

Has anyone noticed a significant memory leak after using and exiting this program. I went from 12meg of user mem before and 7 meg after exiting. Then I slowly watched as it crept down to 2 megs in less then an hour...

just got off the phone with Verizon Wireless. Told him I can't get any sound from VZ Nav. He says to hold on while he gets a Pearl to play with. About 5 minutes later he comes back and tells me that he has a Pearl with VZ Nav and that it is doing the same thing. He is sending a note to the appropriate department so that it can be looked at. For those that have VZ Nav, is anyone experiencing this problem? If so, please call VW so that they are aware of it.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8130/4.3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)
I don't have that problem, sorry. Once before it didn't speak, but pressing the button for "Talk" seemed to fix it.

I havent experienced any symptoms of a memory leak.
I had a problem with the voice as well, while driving on a route it calculated, it stoped making noise. I closed it, restarted it, same thing no voice prompts at all. When I got to my destination, I realized I had no sound period. My phone was on the normal profile, and when it rang, there was no sound, only the display on the screen that someone was calling.
A battery pull fixed the problem, and I have not had the same problem again with VZ nav. I was actually planning on calling Networks in Motion (the company that makes VZ Nav) to report the the bug dirrectly since I figured a call to VZW CS with it would probably go nowhere.
