It works to a degree. You just have to figure out how opera handles the touch screen which the current version was never designed for on the Storm. I quickly learned that clicking the screen does nothing, you simply use touch instead of a click. Try hovering over a link inside of Opera then let go. It should open the link. If you hover too long though it will bring up options for that link.

I found at least one website that simply doesn't work in the BB browser (on OS v4.7.0.83), which worked fine on BB and Opera on my Pearl and works fine in Opera on my Storm (given the quirky way Opera works on the Storm in general).

hi, i am a software developer and we provide mobile based web apps to support our main desktop application. so far for all the other phones we use opera; it works great. and also safari for iphone is also working very well. the opera browser is having compatibility issues - i certainly don't want to change my code to support just one phone (storm) - opera and safari both works great for us; but for the storm its really frustrating. any ideas what to do ? we have A LOT OF customers; and if storm isn't compatible we have to redirect them to use other phones (probably iphone) or palm / windows mobile if they already have say , verizon. it would be nice to have storm as an addition. any idea if they blackberry will make an effort to make "it" compatible with opera ? (because the bb browser isn't working) - opera is not 100% compatible and i won't recommend anyone use it unless its perfect for a commercial app.
Has anyone heard anything on when Opera Mini will come out with a version for the Storm? The speed of OMini is great, but I can't deal with the zoom issues and the fact that it doesn't use the click screen.
opera mini is a lot faster than the bb browser... as soon as opera get the touch screen sorted so it works properly with the storm it will be wicked... am i right in thinking firefox are making a browser for the storm??? If this is the case then all other browsers can be rendered obsolete because firefox rocks baby!!!!

Dunno why they didn't come out with a beta yet...and looking @ the web page there isn't really any way to ask Opera directly...
i tried bolt and liked it much better than my previous experiences with opera on my curve / pearl...
But the problem with bolt is that its still somewhat buggy.
i am waiting for an official release....then i will download it again
Does anybody even know for a fact that they are working on it or even care about the storm? For other touch screen windows devices they have opera mobile 9.5. I whole new version of mini would be unique to the storm and hardly seems worth it.
I don't know that making Opera Mini compatible for the Storm is that big of a programming problem, there are only two problems that I know. Selecting and activating links which is double touch vs touch click and bringing up the keyboard. With that said the current BB port of Opera Mini works well with the Storm when you realize that it simply requires a double touch to activate a link, the biggest pain is getting to the keyboard by having to hit the BB button and select it.
