I have the same exact problem as OP, I use curve 8320. I have been with all sorts of support for last three days. This included T-Mobile PDA Support, Hotspot support, T-Mobile Network Support & RIM Techiical Support.
Changed my SIM, changed my phone. I went through everything including xxx8220;Wipe Handheldxxx8221;, xxx8220;Erase all currently installed applicationxxx8221; from the application loader, set the browser to TZones, WI-FI, Internet.
Nothing has helped so far.
I get a message:
xxx8220;Unable to connect to the Internet, Please try again later.
If the problem persists please contact your service providerxxx8221;
Sometimes:
"A communication failure has occurred. The server may be busy, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider"
