I'm a new blackberry user.. and i was just wondering if someone can give me the rundown of what a blackberry can do.. i've been searching for days on end.. i saw that you can use yahoo and aim on there.. but i have yahoo dl'd but it keeps giving me an error.. service not enabled for this handheld.. i have the net on the blackberr.. 30 bucks a month.. and i cant even use yim? and what about aim.. i heard it works.. then i heard it doesn't.. anybody have any news about these topics? and any other things i should know about the blackberry curve 8310.. or applications for it that are useful?

was also looking at jivetalk.. any info on that i should know about?

Welcome to the group, veu. The other's are right. It pays to search, and pay attention to the stickies and attention posts at the top of the sub-forums. See, for example: http://www.blackberryforums.com/blac...tml#post334068.

If IM is your thing, take a look at jivetalk (or maybe search on jive talk). Many, many vets hear swear by it.

Finally, browse the aftermarket software subforum and see the software list at the faq. What's best will depend on your needs and wants.

thanks guys.. yeah new guy here.. with the blackberry.. i have been searching to find out what a blackberry can do.. such as programs.. haven't found to many.. i'm sure there are open source programs or something.. im not sure.. must not be searching in the right place though.. >< but i appreciate the welcome.. and yeah i have checked out jive talk.. and i think i might buy it after the 30 day free trial.. to see if there is anything in there that i'm not a fan of or something.. idk.. just to test it out
