Default new OS problem!

Please Login to Remove!

installed new version(OS: 8900 v5.0.0.1168 EastAsia), it is slower than before, I can feel it. A few applications didn't work anymore, always freeze the BB and has to reboot, for example viigo. BBWeather doesn't update the temporature on the home screen anymore, even after reinstall. Opne BBWeather still works. not sure what's wrong.

How to exit BB messenger and visual voice mail? They are always on. Also they started right after reboot, how to disable this?

thanks.

There are some native apps, BBM being one of them that will always run. VVM isn't one of them, a battery pull should kill it. If you want to close an app with the device running you can use the BB button from the home screen to bring up the "App Manager" and using the BB button again to close it.

pull battery couple times already. I always do that after flash new OS. I might need to uninstall them since I don't use them.

seems I am not able to uninstall Blackberry messenger and visual voice mail?

I also noticed that the battery life is considerably short than before the OS upgrade, anyone has similar experience?

I installed the stickied new OS (1004) and noticed a real drop in how long my battery lasts. I thought maybe it had to do with some of the programs that I had installed and removed them. I didn't notice any improvement. I have installed this new OS and can't say that I have noticed any improvement yet. I can't uninstall BBMessenger either and I don't use it

Update: bb was left on all night by accident and battery charge was the same as when I went to bed. It seems that this version does not drain the battery but, again, I deleted any and all programs that I suspected were contributing to battery drain. I have found in the past that a reinstall can help solve battery drain problems. If you suspect any apps, try leaving them out for a day or two and add apps back in slowly to see which might be the culprits. As for BB messenger, I hid it without going through setup and that seems to have worked fine.
