Hi there,
device: BB Tour 9630
PC: Win XP Pro 32bit
Organizer: Outlook 2007
I've been fighting this problem for a few months now and am at my wits end.
User gets this error sporadically on his BB when trying to sync with current version of desktop manager with cable to Outlook.
I check the RIM.log file for any IGNORE entries and delete them from the side that it exists on, then am able to do a full sync. User calls me the next time he tries to sync with the same "Check Documentation" error, and a new IGNORE entry in the rim.log.
The IGNORE entries have been calendar items, contact items, and task items. I switched his calendar to sync wirelessly by syncing outlook to gmail, and gmail to device using BIS. This has worked great since I did it, calendar no longer an issue.
Things I've done:
- Wiped BB, installed most recent OS, resynced from outlook. Worked fine for about 10 syncs, went back to same error after a week.
- Uninstalled BB Desktop, tried old version, most recent version, same error.
- I took the user's contact list (exported to PST) and put it onto MY blackberry and played with it for 2 weeks, no problems at all.
Is it possible that the device has a bad sector in it's memory that is causing this recurring problem? I wish there were more diagnostics in the error message/log...
Any help would be much appreciated!!! I suspect the user's son is pushing him to migrate to an iphone which I would very much like to avoid.
