BlackBerry 9900 exists?

Quote:
It seems that extremely early reports coming in show the upcoming BlackBerry 9900, tentatively due out late 2007 (possibly early 2008; possibly earlier), will have a screen resolution of 384×288. This will give the new device a larger viewing area and/or a sharper image but will remain with the same aspect ratio of the 320×240 devices, such as the 8800 and 8700. The device will run OS 5.0.0 at the time of launch, although it may vary as the year moves on.
Aside from those bits of information, there's really not much else known at this point in time. I will confirm that the BlackBerry 9900 does, in fact, exist on the Planet Earth. This is not, however, the consumer-targeted BlackBerry 9100 series device that promises to revolutionize the BlackBerry world, or so says our young intellectual piloting the Starship BGR Enterprise Galaxy II. Then again, the corporate types may just explode with joyous jubilation when the BlackBerry 9900 finally surfaces. I'm expecting we'll see the 9900 series release prior to the long-anticipated debut of the 9100 series devices, but don't quote me.

A sharper screen is nice, but, to any RIM engineers who may be lurking, I REALLY need tri-band UMTS. For those of us who travel to Japan and Korea, this is a must. If the 9900 or 9100 doesn't have it, I'll be buying an 8707v off of Ebay.

I am holding out for the 42570.1-B
It will have a universal remote, beer bottle opener, garage remote, and last but not least.... A warp mode option (carrier dependent)

I would expect a beast like this with so many new features, especially the warp drive, would take more than 1 year to make the scene. Unless OS 5 is able to adapt to a new screen size this is going to be an engineering nightmare. Also, consider the work for developers to rewrite apps for the new screen. We're still in the beginning of third-party applications being developed for Blackberries, but we're coming on fast. The developer community is going to need a big lead time to get ready for this.

The 42570.1-b is obviously the linux version - this is like the hex code of 9900 divided by Slashdot. Look at it backwards in the mirror and you'll see what I mean.
This one'll have a bluetooth charger by the way.

Well, I guess I'm just going to have "to be patient" and wait for the BB 9900 to be released especially if it might come out in late '07.
I'll just have to write a letter to Santa and ask him to bring me one.
