Download the desktop manager and phone device software from verizon. And reinstall.
507 means your phone thinks it has no operating system on it.

You need two pieces of software - Desktop Manager (available from www.BlackBerry.com) and the handheld OS. To download that, go to
T-Mobile
Good luck.

The good news is that BlackBerrys are rarely "bricked" for good. Almost every problem is solvable by wiping and reloading the OS onto the handheld.

T mobile would not allow me to download the software,
it asked for my Tmobile number, which I entered
but it said it was not a valid number, maybe since its not a BB number !
I have Desktop manager running but it does not say where to upgrade system OS,
is there a generic OS I can download so this thing is not a 507 brick ?
once it has something on it maybe I can figure the next parts out.
Thanks for your help

Hi
got it working , downloaded the Personal file from here,
the OS list on the homepage
its an unbranded OS,
So now its not a brick !
next I need to load Opera Mini on it, hopefully I can do that thru desktop manager since I do not have a way to do it OTA (over the air)

SMS option not available
-bought my fone on ebay. and i dont have the SMS option available to reply to incoming texts. same as previous person, where i can call and receive texts, but cant send out texts.
-had an IT policy on it, but I think i removed it (not really sure). I used JL cmder, did a 'reset to factory' and nothing happened. So i used JL cmder to "wipe" and got a 507 message (so i read that my OS was gone) >> I then started Desktop manager >> application loader and reloaded version 4.1 onto the phone and still no SMS option...On the device, i go to Inbox and select a message, click the trackwheel, but no option to 'reply, via SMS'...Also, when i go into 'options' >> 'advanced options' >> 'message services', that screen comes up completely blank, with only the "message services" header on top.
did i properly reload an OS onto this thing or what? What can I do?
Question 2: Is this phone going to always hvae the "enterprise activation" logo on the main menu screen? can i get rid of it? is it part of the IT policy?
thanks

Enterprise Activation on the home screen will go away if you subscribe to a BlackBerry data plan.
No option to send SMS messages sounds like you still have the IT Policy on it. Only the "reset to factory" option in JL_Commander will eliminate it. Then you have to reload the OS again and restore your data.
To check for an IT Policy, go to Options > Security Options > General Settings. At the bottom of that screen you'll see an area for Services. It should read *** no services *** if you don't have an IT Policy present. Anything else (like "default") means you've got one.

The ResetToFactory option only works for devices running 4.3 or higher. It did not remove your IT policy. You will need to follow the policy.bin steps.
