Default The AT&T Event at WES 2009

Please Login to Remove!

I know I'm not the only one that went, but for those of you that did, they are supposed to be giving us free AT&T 8900 devices when they launched. Well, they have launched and I'm just wondering if anyone else has received word of when/how we are getting them. Anyone have any info?????? Or at least a contact we can ask????

I knew I should have gone to that party.... I blame Verizon for enticing me with "Happy Hour". Ugh!

Yeah, I agree. The Verizon party sucked monkey balls.

Yeah, I saw the guy setting up when I was on my way over to the gym. I was going to try to sneak over and grab one (or offer to buy one!) but I didn't think I'd blend very well in shorts and a tank top.

AT&T service blows where I live anyway, so I'm giving mine to my brother, who currently has a Razr <<<shudder>>> with AT&T. He's pretty excited about the upgrade.

I never actually heard them say they were giving them out, could it be a rumor?

I am 99.999999999% certain they are giving them out, even though I didn't hear a formal announcement at the party.

I had an issue with the bussing from the Marriott (since I was at the Ritz and they wouldn't take me back to the Ritz after the party). The AT&T guy at the Marriott told us that they were giving them out.

It's a sad day today. I borrowed an 8320 for WES and the new guy will see some scratches on it. I have to wipe it and give it up. I will miss checking my emails in the morning and my chats with friends on BB messenger.

My old friend the BlackJack will again be used with out a dataplan.

Tonight I will sit by the fire and watch it flicker instead of a glowing screen. I will listen to crickets, frogs and the other noises in the night instead of the chirps of BB messenger or the whirs of the vibe. Tonight I free my self of technology and will reflect on my memories instead. Tonight it would be best to knot rain!

No, its not a rumor, I was there and the guy said that everyone in the place was getting an AT&T Curve 8900 with six months of free telenav service. He said we will get them once AT&T has officially released them, so I'm hoping soon. I have emailed the address that was listed on the AT&T event signup webpage but have yet to get a response. I wish someone here knew who to ask or could find out from AT&T.....

Of course there are trade-offs with anything, the 8900 has MUCH application memory than any previous BlackBerry device.

+1 not a rumor. I heard it as well. Originally you were supposed to get scanned on the way out with the same code that was used coming in, but going out got bottlenecked so they said everyone who was scanned going in will get one.

Yeah I appreciate that they were trying to promote a blackberry product by using the bar codes and blackberrys to scan, but man that was a terrible idea.
