Very cool. Does anyone know what unlocking does? Or even how to go about unlocking it.

With respect to the Unlock Code, it should not have appeared in the beta, it is for when we start selling FlipSide.

I downloaded this, installed it and snagged a bunch of album covers. The entire time I could not get it to play.

Any ideas?

Tried it and it works. It did truncate album and song names (Steely Dan shows up as "Steely Da"). It also recognized some songs as individual albums. I have a few jazz compilations, so maybe it searched on artist name rather than album.

I like this. I like this. Anybody know what criteria it uses to find album covers? It found most but not all of the small collection on my BB. It got one cover wrong.

There is no guarantee that we can find artwork for all music ever in the history of everything! If you have artwork for a particular album and you store each album in its own directory simply copy the artwork to that directory calling file folder.jpg
See if this helps.

I had the same problem initially but after editing the tags for those songs that were individual albums, they now fall under their appropriate folder/album.

How do I edit the tags? Is this something that Roxio can do? I used Creative's media manager to convert to mp3. Is this where I should edit the tag?

You should use a tage editor. This was the program that was suggested to use Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv2)

Or you can edit them the long way:
Right click on a .mp3
Property
Summary

I installed the program, but as all users said, it only read the mp3 format.

My friend has this converter where he can convert different file formats into other format.

I am yet to receive to program, wich i'll be getting shortly.
The program is obviously too large to upload to this web

If you wish to receive the program, email me at

[email address]

Thanks.

Hi.

FlipSide version 0.31 beta is up on the server. Please point your
devices at:

http://flipside.fm/flipside.jad

Changes include:
Fixed pause and resume on incoming calls.
Fixed pause and resume on outgoing calls.
Fixed issue with notifications stopping playback.
Typographic changes.
File scan now ignores /blackberry/ ringtones/ , /blackberry/ videos/,
/blackberry/ pictures/ .
The "Refresh Music" action now does a full scan instead of an
incremental scan.
Network connection changes designed to reduce IT Policy clashes.
Made file suffix checks case insensitive.
Fixed bug in pulling images out of ID3 tags which was cropping images.
Improved Pearl keypad support, hold down a key to jump to the next
letter. It works as follows, hold the "ER" key to jump to artist names
that begin with "R", or just press it to jump to artists beginning
with "E".

Enjoy,

Haemish

I'm using version 0.32 right now and it seems like it doesn't scan my whole SD card for songs. It gets truncated no matter how many times I do a scan. Any ideas? Maybe the developer restrict it to certain amount of songs? Because I had ver 0.30 previously installed and didn't have this particular issue.

I tried downloading the media player but when I click on a track to play it just disappears and nothing plays. If I keep clicking on all the tracks they all disappear and it says "No Music Found". I using a BB Pearl 8130 with 4.0 OS and the mp3s are on an 8G sandisk card. Any suggestions?

See if this works for you.

The problem with the 8120/8130 is just a configuration issue which can
be solved by changing the permissions for FlipSide to allow media
access. Until we can work out how to turn this on programmatically
this is the solution:

1. install FlipSide if it is not already installed
2. go to the home screen
3. go to Options->Advanced Options->Applicatio ns->FlipSide
4. go to Menu->Edit Permissions
5. go to Interactions and do Menu->Expand
6. change "Media Access" to "Allow"
7. contemplate the mystery of why it is set to "Deny" by default
8. use FlipSide to play music

Ver .34 beta now available.

My old .30 beta version trial ended and asked for a code, so I uninstalled it! I didn't want to buy a beta version!
