Angry GMAIL with BIS 2.0 Problem!

Please Login to Remove!

I am having a gmail problem - Setup access to my gmail account through BIS 2.0. Now every time I send an email from my blackberry using my gmail account, the BB has a 'sent mail' on the blackberry (ICON with a little check on the left), within a minute or so the BB also recieves a new email which is a copy of this email I just sent (with attachments if I sent any attachments in the earlier message). The details for this new message says - recieving through gmail <account name>, To: the sender I was sending the earlier message to, reply to: my gmail account address. I have also noticed, that if I send out a message from my outlook inbox which has been configured to POP gmail, a copy of that message is also showing up on my blackberry. These duplicate messages are irritating & confusing! Does not seem to happen for the yahoo account that I have setup on BIS. It is appears as if each time a new message were to show up in my Gmail 'Sent Items', (and the source of getting info in the sent folder could be from anywhere - mail sent from the gmail webpage, outlook client, or BB) a copy shows up on my BB, additionally when I send it out from my BB I get to see the sent message and the copy both in there. I have checked BCC setting on gmail & BIS those are blank. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Don't have gmail forwarding setup. Use BIS, which I believe is POP's gmail in the background

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Create a filter in BIS to not forward any message that is from your email address. I had this problem too and went around in circles trying crazy setups people were suggesting.

It only takes the one step and the problem will be fixed.

dd123 : contact Gmail - they have your "all mail" folder set up for POP access instead of just your "inbox"

this is why your getting all the email you send back on your BlackBerry

Please note if you are on the BIS v2.0 and want to take advantage of the GMAIL real-time push existing users of GMAIL will need to delete and re-integrate their GMAIL account.

Push gmail works on Verizon also - I had to delete and add my gmail account to get it to work.

Push mail is working for me as well and I'm also with Verizon. I get messages a little less than a minute though for some reason I'm still not able to delete messages from my gmail account when I delete them on my BB. Anyone have any suggestions.

thanks in advance

Try deleting the gmail account from the BIS, logout, log back in and then try adding the gmail account again.

To use the push feature of gmail, do you need to enable POP in your gmail settings?

Kris

When I added gmail, I did nothing to the settings on the BB or gmail account. All I did was go and add new email acct [email address] and it said it was set up. I sent a test message to myself and got it within a couple minutes.

Correct. BIS 2.1 includes gmail real-time messaging similar to yahoo.com
I think each carrier has to implement (have RIM implement) BIS 2.1 although I have yet to see any new icons (gmail works).
