I'm selling battery doors, see sig. I'm selling it for cheaper than ShopBlackBerry too. Ask San Francisco and DocGo. Only two customers on BBF to buy from me. But I've sold over 15 on eBay.

so i listen to metal/rock/hardcore and my ringtones match my music taste since I made them myself. It seems to me like there is a lot of distortion if the volume is turned all the way up. More like a vibration of the door, will this solve the problem?

Let me tell you guys as already posted, it works great, and tell you the truth i cant go back to how it was before, but on a speacial note; for those who have done it already open up you bb from the back once in a while, you will notice thats it is not as clean as before, so much dust and like linen or cotton from you clothes when the phone is in you pocket, especially that piece where the speakers is located has some kind of sticky material in that area so its hard to clean, but all in all, im keeping it the same really, its such an improvement its not even funny

Can I just get like a really thin sewing pin, and heat the tip of it and just melt the holes? And they would come out really really thin.

Should be able to. But why not just use a dremel tool if you have one? It's pretty simple.

I drilled mine with a regular drill, just with a tiny bit. I drilled nine holes though... a circle of 8 and one in the middle. It sounds WAY better, so much less muffled. Even if it is laying on a counter face up, the sound is still much better. I'll post a pic of mine later.

There's all kinds of ways to make the holes. I take it you may not have a drill or something else to bore a hole?

I would not use a pin because the holes would be too small. You would have to melt about 100 of them to make it effective.

Your better bet is to get some pliers and a nail. Clamp the nail with the pliers, then heat up the nail on a gas stove burner. Then melt the holes from the outside of the cover going in.

But, melting plastic is tricky. You can really goof up the Pearl's looks if you do not do it right. E.g., the nail can have a crater effect on each hole, leaving an edge or rim of melted plastic around each hole.

I'd pass on using a pin or nail to melt holes. If you don't have a high-speed drill and the right sized bits, just forget about messing with the cover.

I agree with SFO, by melting holes in plastic one can't acheive perfection.

Any idea on the rpms on high speed drills? Has anyone tried it with a regular drill? I have a table top drill with 3 varying speeds. But I don't think they are very high.

I would recommend the highest settings on the Dremel tool and the smallest drill bit. Also if you know your pattern lay a small piece of painter tape to prevent any potential drill bit from walking. It really gets my attention when folks talk of using a 18vdc drill motor. If some folks don't have the touch for a light and gentle application then let a friend that's a gear head to use the skills to gently apply to soft touch and mod it for yah...great excuse to drink a beer and share a good time too......my apologies for the rookie photo and out of focus on the last one..it really came out clean..

C-man....

OK not sure how these images will display but you will see I used the painter tape and it took all of about 4 seconds to drill each hole and they all came out very clean. Oh and the sound is vastly better then the stock cover. I can even hear Santana say Fuh-git-ah-bout-it..which he did better then when klinton tried to say it..Haaa.....

I used a regular $20 9.6v drill with a 1/64 drill bit and it worked perfectly. I don't think anyone needs a Dremel tool or high speed drill.
