Question Can I have BES and BIS at the same time

Please Login to Remove!

I am corporate BB user and was wondering if I can still use Cingular webmail (blackberry.net) on my BB. If yes, is the Webmail service free or does Cingular charge you extra for it?

Thanks...

Yes and Yes.
You can use them both.

BES = "instant" push; OTA syncing of everything. BIS = push, and mail going to *@*.blackberry.net unless you set up the reply-to address. I think in almost all instances, it is preferable to use BES than BIS.

Sort of. You can't nicely tie in multiple email addresses with BES so I'm not sure you can make a blanket statement like that.

True to an extent, but that's why I said "almost all instances" And besides, upon further thought to your post, it's true that you don't have a nice webby interface to tie the email addresses together but there are other ways to push email to your BES account to be resent to your BB.

Ultimately though, it's true, BES isn't always more preferable to BIS but for my applications, it seems to be a better compromise. And hey, I use both!

Default mailbox jumble?

Will BIS and BES deliver to separate (distinct) mailboxes on the handheld so that my personal accounts will not be intermingled with my BES mail?
