hey guys i finally got my new bb 8700c working and good...i just have to go home and install the verichat so i can aim and yahoo messenger on here as well as msn messenger. i want to try out my PIN messenging...i dont know anyone else that has a bb...can someone please send me a message...my PIN is 203A10BC...thanks in advance...and is there anyone to look up who added you in their BB address book? becuase i could have sworn someone had a thread on this that people have added him but no one ever send him a message..i mean how did he know that he was added??? anyone have any clue on this?

No, there is no way to know if someone added you to their address book. There are delivery confirmations, is that what you might be thinging of?

Do you have to have a data plan to send/recieve PIN messages? A buddy of mine has an 8700 also and tried to PIN me the other day but I didn't get it. I have data and he doesn't so I just figured that's what the problem was.

PIN messaging is a BB Data service not Phone like SMS. No BB Plan = No Data Service!

I'm not looking to make fun of anyone, but what exactly is the point of a BB without data plan? Kind of defeats the purpose, no?

He just likes to have the newest gadgets. And he does a bunch of text messaging and the BB is a lot better typing than using T9. I have the BB Data Plan but I don't use it for its push e-mail service. I just use it for browsing the internet. I originally bought the 8700 because I, too, do a lot of text messaging.
