Default Emails disappeared after Bharti upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

I recently received my replacement 8700r (keyboard issues) and decided to use my old unit as a test platform to upgrade to the Bharti OS.

After upgrading I'm enjoying some of the newer functionalties and themes. However with good... comes bad. Since the upgrade my emails no longer show on my unit. I can send and receive new emails, however none of the emails that are STILL available on the BIS are synching to my handheld. I tried resending service books and many other options to no avail.

Seeing that I was still on my old unit, I decided to switch over to my new unit still with it's default factory settings and OS and try some of these options again - nothing. I called Rogers Blackberry Support and explained that this happened after switching over to my new unit and the rep simply told me that it's normal and there is no way of me synching my older emails (still on BIS) to my handheld. His only suggestion was to manually forward each email from BIS to my handheld. It's important for me to still have access to these emails for reference purposes and action points.

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Did you do a backup first? The only way to restore old emails is using Destop Manager's backup/retstore or resend them.

I did backup first. It fixed everything BUT my emails. I still have them all on my BIS, just can't access them through the BB anymore. It's driving me nuts!

You can do a restore of just the emails using the Advanced feature of Restore. Try that.

Remember this too.....If you do a wipe your emails that the BWC or BIS see's as already pushed out will not be repushed....the backup/restore is the only way.

Also, check out the options in your messages....make sure you have everything concerning displaying messages set to 'yes'.

THANK YOU!! This worked perfectly! All my previous emails are back on my unit.

Unfortunately, I still have a dilemma though. Since I also have the new replacement unit, I have to send back the previous one due to keyboard issues, however these newly restored emails now need to be transferred onto the new unit. I tried a few things through Desktop Manager however they would not place emails onto the new unit.. only some features.

Any ideas?

Gotta give more details. What steps did you take with the new unit and what didn't work After you got the emails back, did you try a full backup and then a restore to the new unit?
