Well I'm not sure how to show you over some message boards but I bet if you ask anyone here and also read Pizzle's post under mine you'll understand.

jungleland, think of it n the opposite sense, i see that you are running telstra, as am I, in this OS version you have all the previous themes you had plus some new ones. Also when bharti came out it was an upgrade written by rim, not carrier specific; therefore not really theme specific either. Tmo know has it in a newer version but zen is not a tmo theme, available yes but not exclusive...

Is there a 'Rolling Stones' version of the 7100 coming? Kind of like the U2 version of the Apple iPod?
The vendor does not have an entry in the Vendor.xml (should be unde 0xDB), so I'm not really sure who it could be as of yet. Most likely this is simply some sort of marketing tie-in with Rolling Stones, a vendor, and BlackBerry. Doubt it will be much more than a background, some included ringtones of their songs, and maybe a different color scheme for the Zen layout.

And I feel I am right about that having never had happened...If I am wrong, show me.
Every vendor is given the same OS files, which includes ALL vendor theme files for that particular release, if available. Orange, Bell Mobility, Cingular, Verizon, Vodafone, etc. have all had their themes included in EVERY release since the early releases of the 7100 series and the introduction of vendor themes. It simply takes an 'unlocking' of them in the ALX file (removing the _vendorid="" portions) in order to load them. Some people prefer to have them as an option, and others feel as if they take up space. My BlackBerry.ALX files that I make available are these files pre-edited so that the themes are unlocked.

If you've never edited the ALX file yourself (which I will say that you probably haven't), or downloaded an edited ALX file from one of my threads, then you've probably never had this happen to you.

[QUOTE=jibi]in about 10 seconds...

* Edit: QUOTE]

Thanks a ton Jibi.
When I tried using your .alx, the DM came up with a message that its going to remove an unrecognized component: "net_rim_theme_120_today_320x240.cod".
Looking into the .alx I did a slight modification to it where I noticed UMTS instead of GPRS at the line:
~~~~
<fileset radio="UMTS" series="8700" Colour="True" KeyboardType="Qwerty" Java="1.0">
<files>
net_rim_theme_120_today_320x240.cod
~~~~
After suitably modifying it, the upgrade went through without a hitch.
Perhaps due to my playing around with too many OS versions.
I had the 8707 Vodafone OS (.394 of UK and then .433 of NL) on my 8700g just before this .456.

Thanks again!

ONe thing I noticed....

If you are using Zen, and you have google talk on the 'front page', when you highlight it, it is called 'oogle talk'.

Awesome!

Good catch. Updated the new file. I've also put the new versions of the 8707 Today and Zen themes on the 8700 Zen thread. File sizes BARELY differed.

I am having issues with the notification icons on the Zen theme. They seem to work on the other themes I have tried.

This is specific problem reported with the version of Zen included in this update. It has been reported in several posts here. Not a battery issue.

I've also noticed that this OS is MUCH more sluggish than the previous version from Telstra. Just seems to pause for a brief moment between some actions (like removing a message from the home screen after deleting it from the messages inbox, or bringing up menus, etc).

For the sake of argument (I'm not ready yet) - how do I go back to the Telstra .309 build?

The loader recognizes a newer version - but presumably not an older version.

Is it doing this in specific themes or common in most popular themes on this OS?
I ask since the Zen seems to have issues in particular on this OS.
