how does the gas reporting system work?

i check my zip code and recognize two stations within 1 kilometer of where i live and the prices reported with your tool are not accurate. they are actually relevant to over a week ago, gas prices are dropping daily here for a change. so is it a disconnect in your reporting software or is it the medium thats reporting it to your software and you are broadcasting their info which is out of date?

thanks in advance

How accurate is the gas price by zip code? I have a similar feature on another application but find it to be extremely off.

the connection method you are using, using the apn, is not always a good idea. you will notice with other popular softwares on this website that they using connection methods, such as BES and BIS. Some RIM users do not have extra apn;s available to them which would cause your software not to work for them. A suggestion to you would be to explore these other connection methods and not rely on a user to use a specific apn for connections.

We are using MSN feeds for gas prices.

Thanks youone for the tip. I have had a few users who had problems connecting using apn. I was just wondering what could be the fix. I will look into this immediately

Thanks for the feedback someonexh.
You won't be spammed. Not At All. I will only be sending updates when we launch a new feature. You can always exclude yourself from that email as well.
If you do exclude from the feature update emails, you can still check updates in your account->click on Updates

does this support LBS?
It is great if you know the zip code you're in, but if I am traveling and do not know either the zip code or the city, state. . .I am kinda out of luck. Using the GPS would be nice for this.

Thanks for the great program.

Can you add Japanese, Korean and Thai to your Dine Out list?

Can you also make it sort by distance?

Thanks Harry.

If someone can figure out how to extract the information, I found a website that will take GPS coordinates and convert them to a ZIP code:
http://ws.geonames.org/findNearbyPos...&lng=-96.79558

(I found the lat/long for Dallas, TX using Multimap, as my BB does not have GPS capabilities (other than using a puck)

So, all we need is for someone to figure out how to extract the BB GPS info, input it into this website, extract the ZIP and pass the ZIP into Maufait's gas price widget.

Getting GPS is simple and I have a db that has all US city, zip, state, lat and longitude. My challenge is to get GPS co-ordinates to address faster in Maufait. It takes 2-3-5 minutes to get the GPS co-ordinates and translate it to ZIP/Street. That's why stayed away from GPS in the first release.

i'm planning on adding GPS in my next version release.
