I can use a pair of Motorola HT820 and an 8800 to make voice calls, but can not get the music on the micro SD card to play through them. Is it possible? Thanks

i am gonna guess this is alot like the pearl and other BT blackberries. couple of workarounds today (wont take full credit for one since i have no idea if someone found it before me since i didnt search the forums, and another was posted right on the heals of my post). you can find those here http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ce-8100-a.html

You will not get stereo music playback over BT from the 8800, as it does not support the A2DP BT profile.

well neither does the pearl but there are 2 workarounds (one requires an external adapter, the other is inherent in the device). i am curious to know if either of these works from the above post i quoted. any luck?

BOTH workaround methods have been confirmed as of 1:45pm today. I tested on the 8800 and the 8100 both methods and both work. See the above link to read up on both.

An external BT transmitter isnt a workaround, it is a whole new piece to buy/carry/charge/pair/find a place on your belt for.

I havnt tried your other workaround but from looking at it Id say that it only transmits mono audio by opening the BT gateway during music playback, not stereo A2DP sound.

I agree. A workaround would be an unsupported patch that replaced the RIM bluetooth stack with one that supported A2DP. An external transmitter is a kludge, and a very bad one at that. The second one is a joke. Who wants to listen to a dual mono signal? I guess if you are a fan of doo-wop or early Beatles recording you would be OK. Buddy Holly anyone?
