I havnt tried your other workaround but from looking at it Id say that it only transmits mono audio by opening the BT gateway during music playback, not stereo A2DP sound.

I agree. A workaround would be an unsupported patch that replaced the RIM bluetooth stack with one that supported A2DP. An external transmitter is a kludge, and a very bad one at that. The second one is a joke. Who wants to listen to a dual mono signal? I guess if you are a fan of doo-wop or early Beatles recording you would be OK. Buddy Holly anyone?
