Default Time to Upgrade

Hey all,

It's been a while since I posted but I've been doing spot lurking now and then.

It's time to upgrade my 9900, so I was wondering what you guys think about the classic vs the Q10? Any reason to fork out the extra for the Classic?

I prefer a keyboard and trackpad (mouse) otherwise I'd ask about the Z10 vs Z30.

My one regret with the 9900 is the browser, my old eyes can't see webpages since they removed the column view and it's cumbersome having to move the page left and right when you enlarging the page (zoom). Has that been fixed in OS10?

What about all my OS7 apps, should they still work in OS10? Mostly I use gpslogger for my walks, my bible app and a few other non-native apps.

ps... I was reading that blackbery maps sucks in OS10, has that been fixed? I've been using the one in os7 to navigate, and though it doesn't have voice, it gets you there.

none of your apps will work on BB10, you will need to get new versions

Browser is awesome on BB10, double tap on text to enlarge it is nice.

Classic has a bigger screen and the tool belt of buttons, so it might be better if you get a Classic

the BlackBerry maps app works great for me. I use it once a week.

When you say "none", I bet you really mean none and that bites...

Looks like the bible i use (BlackBerry Bible study - introducing Noah Bible Study for BlackBerry) isn't currently being developed and I have probably 6 or 7 years worth of valuable notes that I can't afford to lose.

I really don't know what I'm going to do because my 9900 is on it's last breath so I need to do something soon...

Glad the browser is fixed and the bigger screen helps since my eyes aren't getting any younger.

I think you will find most updated Apps will work on the BB10 line and another nice thing is you can use some Android apps. I have 4 and all work well.

That's a thought, maybe I can sideload the Android version of the bible???

I'm that close to pulling the trigger on a Classic tonight, I need to find one that is unlocked and takes a sim card since TMO seems to have left the BB fan club...

Do an internet search and you will find many sites offering a discussion on side loading different versions of the Bible.
