Default I cant find vendor.xml

Please Login to Remove!

When I go to <c><program files><research in motion> the only folder to click is "blackberry".
When I go inside that folder, nothing says apploader, or vendor.xml

I need some help, take it easy on me, i'm new. Trying to the the Bharti Loaded, I already downloaded it and installed it, and now i'm trying to delete the vendor.xml as states in Seattle18 step 2.

Thanks

hah, i think my blackberry despises me already.

I changed vendor.xml to vendorOLd.xml, as stated.

Step 6-B, states locate <shared><loader files>

I definetly don't have that... When I go into <c><programfiles><commonfiles><researchinmotion> my choices are:

<apploader>
<modem drivers>
<rim device manager>
<usb drivers>

Not one of those four folders has a subfolder called "shared", or "Loader Files" for that matter

I think that is b/c u have not installed the os yet. After you install the device o.s onto your computer those directories are created.
I think?

Not sure if your BB hates you, but you haven't followed the instructions at all.

1 - download the handheld OS
2 - Execute the handheld OS you just installed
3 - delete VENDOR.XML
4 - Start Desktop Manager.

Exactly what I have done

1) I went to the Control Panel and uninstalled BB 4.1

2) Download Bharti

3) Install Bharti

4) Do not click "Launch Desktop"

5) Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and delete or rename Vendor.xml (renamed vendorOLD.xml)

6) There is no "shared folder" in <C><PROGRAM FILES><COMMON FILES><R.I.M>

My four choices are:

Apploader
Modem Drivers
RimDeviceManager
USB Drivers

Some body hook me up! I'm at the end of my rope

4) Th

Desktop manager and the handheld os are two different programs. Install your desktop manager 4.1 or 4.2 which ever you would like. Next install the handheld software Bharti.
Re-boot your computer (may not be essential) but not knowing your computer os it's best.
When back up and running look in those directories for the file(s).

If there is no SHARED folder then you didn't install something properly.

There are two components - Desktop Manager and the Handheld OS. Are you sure you have both pieces.

Hmm. I'm not sure what I actually have.

The CD that came with my 8700c sayas "blackberry Desktop Software"

And When I downloaded from Blackberry its a Zip File that is titled "41013dt-MultiLang"

And the "blackberry.alx" file is in a Zip that is titled "8700-Bharti-4[1].1.0.466"

Am I missing a piece to the puzzle?

You downloaded the Desktop Manager AGAIN.

You *must* download the HANDHELD OS FOR THE 8700 BLACKBERRY.
