Default OS 4.2 vs 4.1

Please Login to Remove!

Apparently those with 4.2 on a Pearl can connect a BT GPS separate and appart from an application doing so. Thus MrKyoo can use the Mapquest product from Telmap. I can't on my 4.1 8700. This also means he can probably use the old application Caffine Finder. I could not without an internal GPS.

Anyone else care to comment.

In the future I will but will probably have an 8800 by then But I also learned the MrKyoo's 7130 Telmap software connected itself. It wasn't a 4.2 feature so I am am probably wrong about this.

For a bit I thought OS 4.2 had a method of connecting to the GPS BT without running a program, so that some programs would work even though they don't have a setting for connecting to the BT GPS. Like the old Cafine Finder needed a BB with built in GPS. I thought 4.2 might give you a way around this, but apparently not.

hmmm...How can I verify this? I have 4.2 loaded, but have no clue what to do for this...
