i have been in search of a better browser for the 8700g. i recently tried downloading the Opere mini brower but having trouble making a network connection. i have been at this for some time now but haven't found one that really support the "bb8700g". my question is, if anyone knows a 3rd partie app.. thats support this device can you give me some feed back and also seen me instructions or link on how i can install them using my handheld.

I have the 8700g, and Opera Mini version 3.0 works fine for me. There's just 1 set-up step you have to do to get it working:

1. From the Home Screen, click Options (wrench icon on most themes).
2. Click Advanced Options.
3. Click TCP.
4. In the field "APN:", type wap.voicestream.com.
5. Leave Username and Password blank.
6. Click the Scroll Wheel.
7. Click Save.

After that, Opera Mini should work fine. Makes a good secondary browser for times when your 's built-in Internet Browser won't load a particular site.

You might need to hard reboot after entering the APN info.... Remove battery for about 30 sec and put it back in....

I like it a lot! It could still use a little tweak here and there, with my big complaint being that it doesn't use the same keyboard and menu interface as the official BB Internet Browser, but Opera Mini still works well, especially when you run into a site that doesn't want to load on the BB Internet Browser.

I also NEED to have at least 2 browsers on my BB at all times, because my web browsing habits frequently require me to have 2 web pages open at the same time.
