In the BBMaps menu, just select start gps....If that doesn't work, then I would make sure you have the latest 7520 firmware, and check that application permission is set to allow BBMaps access to the gps. It's works fine on my 7520.

I checked and have v.1.0.273 .......... still the live data doesn't show up at the bottom part of BBmaps .. it's all empty.. dunno...will research a little more I guess... yes the Land based system is set to unrestricted...

I think I needed 4.1.0.380 in order for it to work correctly....Here's a link to the Nextel page at the BB site

Hi, I recieved my new 8800 last week from SFR France, .... it's beautifull but no maps are installed or present in installation CD! Neither SFR, nor Bouygues are able to help me. they don't know anything about Blackberry or any kind of maps. The thing is all links I fing go to this page

No way to install it!!! I've tried from 10 different computers 5home, work, friends,...). Same message all the time. Please, can anibody help me... one of the reasons I changed my phone was the GPS but who can use it without maps ???? Thaks for your help !!!!

Thanks for you link, but it's the one I've been trying for the last 7 days... it always fionished by the same error message: Microsoft® Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) users: if you encounter an error, look at the top of this page for a yellow bar that reads "This site might require the following ActiveX control: 'AxLoader.cab' from 'Research In Motion'. Click here to install..." Click the yellow bar and choose "Install ActiveX Control..." to allow installation to proceed.
I've tried to download from 10 different computers (it's real). Is the download forbidden for France??? Can anyone send me the maps or just a link to an alternative page!!!

Performance on teh 7290 is terrible, anyone know anyway to improve performance ?

Seems to be like sometimes a good 10-20 seconds before it updates.

By the way using a holux GPSSlim 236, which works flawlessly with my pocket PC and TomTom Navigator 6.

I was just using the blackberry to check out the potential.
