I remember seeing an earlier picture of this model that was relatively close to this. It was a lot smaller, so the details were harder to make out. Either way, I'm anxious for this device and I only hope that a Canadian provider is also interesting in picking-up the device at the same time as Nextel (specifically, Telus).
Thanks for the link. I hope this is out soon. I hate carrying an iDEN phone and a Blackberry and the 7520 is far too bulky to sit comfortably in a pocket.
The rubber bottom may help with some of the holster problems that a lot of people have mentioned about the other 7100 models. This is just speculation though, it doesn't make a lot of sense that it would be there for drop protection.
I might go to one of these, since I find myself just reading my emails and not responding as much as i used to. Plus it will fit in my pocket and thats kinda what I want, I have used SureType before and yes it did suck, but I can get used to it just like I did a QWERTY.

Ewwww... My friend has a BB with SureType and I haaaaaaaate it. It's very awkward to get used to because it's neither a full keyboard nor just a standard cell phone keypad (which im more accustomed to than even the SureType). It rides in the middle of both worlds I'm familiar with and I just don't even care to learn how to rip on it.
suretype is easy enough to get used to, i promise. its hard for me to type on a 7290 handheld, these days. i will have to comment that, assuming thats a real picture, that is perhaps the ugliest of the 7100 series handhelds...

Seems that many people use the suretype for about a month and then go back. Interesting concept but the 7100i would also have to contain the much improved screen - if it washes out in sunlight the device is as good as DOA to Nextel people..
Does anyone have a list of the specs for this model? I've seen something mentioned in the 8700 thread(s) but they're talking about the 7130 model. Not sure if this is the same thing or not.

7130e will be the CDMA version of the 7100 series for Sprint Nextel corp. (next year)
