Does the upcoming MR1 for 4.1.4 update to this device.xml or should I apply this manually?

I modified it myself, so I'm not really sure what will be included in MR1 (no havey yet). If you're adding any of the above devices and have an immediate need, use the one attached; otherwise, it's just a novelty spawned by the thread earlier this morning...
...and let's not mention how long it took me to finish, as I ended up trying to figure out how RIM assigned the device IDs (the hex code). That one is still up in the air, although I have parts of the equation figured out (I think).

I didn't pay attention to notice an overwrite of device.xml when I installed MR1 today, but I can confirm it does not include the 8310 entry if it did.
Cheers jibi

Does MR1 include version 1.0.0.43 (this was the version in 4.1.4)? If so, then nothing would have been updated. 1.0.0.44 updated to include Virtual BlackBerry, but the 8820 and 8310 updates have only been included in the Platform.alx files thus far (which aren't present with BES releases).

Finally have one of our European users wanting to use an 8310. BES there is v4.0.6, and hmmm...won't activate the 8310. Hence my search to this thread (YAY Jibi!)
Since I've never had to update/modify the device.xml file (that I remember), do I copy/paste the contents of device.xml file (from here) into the device.xml file on my BES? Any reboot needed? Stop services first?
Also, will this even work with 4.0.6 BES (we are upgrading soon.....)
TIA!

Device.xml: restart BES needed ?
Hi guys
Just wondering. I've just put the device.xml where it belongs and tried to push apps (OTA) to an 8820 and a 8310 (both azerty-keyboards), but it failed (saw it in the POLC-log). Do I have to restart some services ?
Thx 4 the help.

Thank You Thank You....I added 3, 8320's from TMO the other day(one for my boss) and couldn't get Sametime pushed out to them. I grabbed the latest xml from TMO (1.0.0.44)and it still wouldn't push. Added your 1.0.0.46 and voila`. Did I say THANK YOU!!!

I have added Device.xml-RIM.zip to the original post. This is the official release of 1.0.0.47 from RIM that will be featured in future OS and BES releases. I do not foresee any changes to this Device.xml until the 9000 series devices are released.

Just for information, MY BES has a device.xml 1.0.0.35 and i have found a 1.0.0.45 on my laptop.
Can i rename the file on the BES and copy the newer file from my laptop into the same location on the BES? Do i need to stop and start the synch service for the new .xml file to be cahced?
I have been having a problem with OTA passwords on new 8310's and i have noticed that there are no entries in the .xml files on the BES for 8310's.

You can just drop the file in ... I would recommend getting the file jibi has linked above as it is newer than your file.

Ive been told to stop and start the synch service once the latest device.xml has been copied down to the c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader folder on the BES. Is that correct?

When I view my vendor.xml on the BES it looks nothing like the one Jibi has. What gives?
