Default BlackBerry Manager not reporting device model

Please Login to Remove!

In our org. we have several devices that aren't reporting back what device model a user has. I read somewhere else to delete the desktop [SYNC]service book and then undelete. That didn't work. I have EA'ed the device several times. Does anyone have any suggestions other than wiping/reloading the device? also some device don't report the phone number but that isn't as critical. With the model not working OTA software pushes from the BES don't work.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

What version of BES & what model HHs?

Have you tried updating the device.xml?

To get the number fixed you either need to contact the carrier and ask them to provision the number on the SIM, or have the user set it manually on the SIM.

We are running BES 4.1.4.15.

Yes we are using the latest device.xml.

the models not reporting back are 8100, 8130, 8830 and maybe others. Odd thing is other devices that are the same model report back correctly.

I did open a ticket with RIM but no answer as of yet....

Chubbs,

They never gave an answer. I ended up reloading the device and that works 100% of the time. A real pain in the a$$ but it works.
