Hey all, ive tried fixing my 8900, ive posted on here my problem and there hasnt been any reply. so by that im guessing im ducked. ive been wanting to ditch my iphone 4 due to the exspense and i think now woul be an ideal to sell due to the new release coming in the next few months for apple.

Im considering an upgrade, i would like to ask a few questions
1. whats the best bb on the market at present
2.when is bb releasing a new batch of phones?
3. is there anything exciting in the pipeline?
4. a bit off but do you have like a run keeper app and an calorie counter app? im living by these apps at present on my iphone.

Hopefully this post will be a bit more helpful than my last

I don't see how belittling and rude is being helpful. Dc/dc there wasn't really any need for your input. Mama's hand didn't need to be held.

I can see where your coming from tho. My thread could seem rude to some people. I Apolagise if this is the case. The comment to mama, was a retaliation. There was no need for that comment. It was rude.

You're in luck because there are several brand new OS7 devices that will be released before, or shortly after, the end of August. First off we have the Bold 9900; it will feature a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with a physical QWERTY keyboard but also, a touch-screen. Next there's the Torch 2, this will also have a 1.2GHz processor and comes with an updated virtual QWERTY keyboard alongside the customary slide out. Finally there's the Torch 9860/50 which could also be though of as the "Storm 3" these devices will be full touch screen smartphones and will also come with the updated virtual QWERTY keyboard just like the Torch 2.

My preference would be the new Bold 9900 as it seems a lot sleeker and faster than its previous models.

However, if you can wait there will be QNX-powered devices being released sometime down the road which will apparently be a huge jump from the current devices.

Perfect! You couldn't have given me a better answer. Thank you, hopefully I'll be able to hold on and I'll get my current blackberry fixed. Which might I add I've received plenty of helpful information for. ( now ) . Just need to buy a data cable as I've forgotten my other at home.

I feel this is a slightly dumb question but blackberry obviously staggers their release dates for the phones right? Do you have any dates to when a we will see a new release?

RIM doesn't have a firm schedule for releases. The next couple models were delayed from summer to fall, and RIM knows they can't afford another delay.

BlackBerry App World has a bunch of calorie counting apps and other fitness apps. Ascendo Fitness is a perennial favorite. Weight Watchers has a points calculator for BlackBerry too.

Until RIM publishes actual dates anything you see identifying release date or times is pure conjecture. There have been many dates thrown around and all have been based on something...rumored leaked internal memos, a brother who works at RIM, a cousin who knows the CEO's hairdresser, a Magic 8 Ball, etc.

Everyone is hopeful the releases will start by the end of August, but I wouldn't bet the farm.....yet.

The 99xx Bold Touch is the one that has me all hot and bothered. I do, however, want to take a long hard look at "Monaco", the all touch-screen BlackBerry. My Android flirtations have showed me the value of larger screen phones, especially when it comes to maps and nav.

It was announced at RIM's annual general meeting that they would be released very close to the end of August, whether it be just after or just before.

But that is not an actual date and nothing is firm until they give a specific date.

They announced many features would be coming early summer, during the summer, soon or even at release for the Playbook. Still waiting.... They never gave a firm date so I can't be annoyed, but "soon" is a relative term. September is also close to the end of August.

Yeah! what Stevetaz means is that they forgot to mention which year it will be released. We are hoping for 2011...
